Classic Margarita (Frozen or On the Rocks)

The Cosmopolitan relies on a clean orange note to tie vodka, lime and cranberry together. Barddies Triple Sec Syrup is a non-alcoholic orange syrup built for that job, so the drink tastes the same every time.
Because it is a syrup rather than a liqueur, it is easy to batch for events and just as easy to adjust to taste.
Ingredients
- 1½ oz (45 ml) vodka
- ½ oz (15 ml) Barddies Triple Sec Syrup
- ¾ oz (22 ml) fresh lime juice
- 1 oz (30 ml) cranberry juice
- Ice
- Orange peel, to garnish
Method
- Chill a martini glass.
- Add the vodka, Barddies Triple Sec Syrup, lime juice and cranberry juice to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds.
- Strain into the chilled glass and garnish with an orange peel twist.

- Taste and adjust the syrup. It is a syrup rather than a liqueur, so you control the sweetness.
- Citrus vodka adds extra brightness.
- Batch for events by multiplying the measures and chilling the pitcher.
