Before the frozen versions, there was the daiquiri: rum, lime and sugar, shaken hard and served up. It is the best test of a bar, because there is nowhere to hide.

Balance is everything, and consistent syrup is half of it. Barddies Simple Syrup gives you the same sweetness every time, so you can focus on the shake.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) white rum
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz (22 ml) Barddies Simple Syrup
  • Ice
  • Lime wheel, to garnish

Method

  1. Chill a coupe glass with ice and water.
  2. Add the rum, lime juice and Barddies Simple Syrup to a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard for 12 to 15 seconds.
  4. Strain into the chilled coupe and garnish with a lime wheel.
