September 2026 · Barddies Cocktail Mixers · barddies.com
September is planning season. The summer rush is behind us, trade shows are back on the calendar, and the smart operators are already deciding what goes on the holiday menu. The buyers who lock their range now are the ones who won't be scrambling in December.
This issue looks at the mixer-forward shift running through bars in 2026 and what it means for a bottled-mixer strategy. Plus our Mango Daiquiri three ways for the end-of-season menu, and three numbers worth knowing before you sign your Q4 supply.

The Mixer Just Became the Main Event
For years the spirit was the star and the mixer was an afterthought. That's flipped. Heading into 2026, bar programmes are built around the mixer first: house-made syrups, shrubs, fermented juices, and bold fruit-forward builds are where bartenders are spending their attention. The RTD cocktail category tells the same story in numbers. It sits at $37.7 billion in 2026 and is forecast to reach $60.3 billion by 2036, with spirit-based RTDs growing at over 20% a year. Consumers have decided that a great mixed drink is worth paying for, at the bar and at home.
Here's the tension. House-made everything signals craft, but it eats prep hours, produces inconsistent results across a shift, and falls apart the moment your best bartender takes the night off. The winning operators aren't choosing between craft and consistency. They're sourcing a premium bottled mixer that delivers the flavour of house-made without the labour, then reserving their bar team's time for the finishing touches guests actually see.
For the Caribbean, the timing is ours to take. The region already owns the flavours the rest of the world is chasing. A locally made, menu-nameable mixer sitting where a bag of unlabelled syrup used to be is a margin decision and a provenance story in one bottle. The bars planning their holiday menus this month are the ones who'll capture it first.
The TakeawayAudit your back bar before you build the holiday menu. Anywhere you're relying on a bartender to hand-make a syrup or mix under pressure, ask whether a consistent bottled mixer gets you the same flavour with fewer misses per shift. Consistency is the craft signal your guests actually taste.

Recipe: Barddies Mango Daiquiri — Three Ways to Close Out the Season
One bottle. Three formats. Built to carry from summer straight into holiday service.
Frozen
3 oz Barddies Mango Daiquiri 1½ oz white rum Blend with 1 cup ice Mango wedge | Mint
The house signature. Holds thick and gold in a frozen machine for a full shift. Pure poolside sell.
On the Rocks
2 oz Barddies Mango Daiquiri 1½ oz white or aged rum ¾ oz fresh lime Ice | Shake & strain over fresh
Aged rum turns it into an evening drink. Same mixer, a completely different menu listing.
Mocktail
2 oz Barddies Mango Daiquiri 4 oz soda or coconut water ½ oz fresh lime Ice | Mint sprig
Same golden colour as the full-ABV pour. The zero-proof guest orders it without feeling like an afterthought.
PRO TIP (HIGH-VOLUME SERVICE): For events, pre-blend the frozen base without the rum and hold it in the machine. Add measured rum per pour, or run the batch as a mocktail and spike to order. One machine covers both your drinking and non-drinking guests without a second station, and you keep full control of your pour cost.

Three Numbers to Know Before You Sign Q4
01 / Demand
$48 billion in regional tourism receipts, and the spend-per-visitor is climbing. The Caribbean Tourism Organization's 2026 forecast puts total receipts near $48 billion, on roughly 35 million stay-over visitors, with per-visitor spend now around $182 a day. More than a third of those guests actively seek authentic local food and drink. That's not a niche you serve on request. It's the largest single preference walking through your door.
02 / No & Low
38% of Gen Z drinkers are buying more non-alcoholic than a year ago, and they're buying it online. Online no-alcohol sales jumped 208% year on year, one of the fastest-growing channels in all of beverage. The takeaway for on-premise is simple. A credible zero-proof list is no longer a courtesy for the designated driver. It's a menu section your youngest, highest-frequency guests are actively shopping. If your mocktails are three juices at the bottom of the page, you're under-serving the fastest-growing table in the room.
03 / Supply
Holiday demand is decided in September, not December. Trade-show season is on now, and the operators walking those floors are locking their fourth-quarter range while there's still time to sample, price, and shelf it. Waiting until the party bookings land means paying rush pricing on whatever's left in the warehouse. Confirm your mixer supply while you still have room to negotiate, and build the menu around what you know you can reliably get.
